Our Doctors
Dr. Carl Gaterbaum
Dr. Carl Gaterbaum is a 1984 graduate of the Illinois College of Optometry. He completed his residency in primary care eye disease at the Eye Institute of Pennsylvania. Clinical experience included externships at Great Lakes Naval Hospital, and the New York Lighthouse for the blind. Dr. Gaterbaum received the Feinbloom Low Vision award in 1984. Research presentations during his residency included acquired macular disease, and complications of extended wear contact lenses.
Dr. Gaterbaum opened his practice in Orlando in January 1990. He is a board certified optometric physician in Florida, and a member of the American Optometric Association, the Central Florida Society of Optometric Physicians, and the Florida Optometric Association.
Dr. Gaterbaum has twin boys, Zachary and Brandon. He enjoys basketball, tennis, chess, and reading. Dr. Gaterbaum has a very strong interest in health and nutrition, and is constantly looking at ways to advance that interest to his patients.
Dr. Richard Guzak
Dr. Richard Guzak is a 2009 graduate of the Michigan College of Optometry. He completed his residency in primary care ocular disease with an emphasis on pediatric vision at Nova Southeastern University in Ft. Lauderdale Florida in 2010. Dr. Guzak also became a Fellow of the prestigious American Academy of Optometry in 2010.
Dr. Guzak began his career in private practice in Grand Blanc, Michigan. During this time he also served as a co-investigator for the FDA in clinical trials for treatments in presbyopia and glaucoma. He received the Dr. Robert VanHoven Memorial Scholarship award in
